Upcoming year 2016 is a big year for movies–especially with many anticipated releases on the lineup. However, before 2016 even begins, a major film is slated to make its debut and end the year with a massive blockbuster bang.
Fans are gearing up for the release of J.J. Abrams'”Star Wars: The Force Awakens” this coming December 18, yet followers of the franchise are not the only ones prepared to indulge on Episode VII of the beloved movie series. According to Collider, Fox was able to secure a placement for the trailer of “X-Men: Apocalypse” in the premiere of “The Force Awakens.” The report further shared that “X-men: Apocalypse” co-writer and producer Simon Kineberg was the one to break the news.
IGN breaks down the quote from Kinberg and emphasized that aside from confirming the trailer attachment, the producer also dished that although the trailer may be short, it will last longer than a minute and that there will be “ton of cool stuff in it.”
A follow up to the 2014 film “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, “Apocalypse” will be taking place 10 years after the timeline of its predecessor and will include mostly younger versions of the X-men favorites, the A.V. Club reports.
Among the new faces to appear in the film include Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler and Oscar Isaac as the titular Apocalypse. Coincidentally, Entertainment Weekly points out that Isaac also appears in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” as the pilot Poe Dameron.
Fans are in for a treat when “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” premieres this December because they will also catch a glimpse on what to expect for “X-Men: Apocalypse”.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will hit theaters on December 18 while “X-Men: Apocalypse” will star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters and Rose Byrne and premiere on May 26, 2016.
