When “X Men Apocalypse” comes out in the spring, Magneto (Michael Fassbender) will not be the same person/mutant that he was from the earlier “X Men” films.

This potential is teased in Entertainment Weekly’s exclusive reveal of an “X Men Apocalypse” concept art. The art shows how Magneto’s powers have leveled up from his previous skills. According to EW, his enhanced abilities is a result of being one of Apocalypse’s (Oscar Isaac) Four Horsemen.

In relation to the enhanced powers of Magneto shown in the concept art, “X Men Apocalypse” director Bryan Singer was quoted by EW in saying:

“Magneto is demonstrating a small taste of what he can do now. Magneto is already enormously powerful…. Now Apocalypse gives him powers far beyond what we’ve seen before.”

Screen Rant details that the aim of Apocalypse is to erase the weak in this world and rule when his goal is accomplished. Since part of Apocalypse’s abilities is to be able to improve other mutants’ powers, the website wonders whether the X-Men stand a chance against Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen.

In the concept art alone, Magneto can be seen as capable of tearing a city apart. How much more destruction can there be if Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Angel (Ben Hardy), and Storm (Alexandra Shipp) also get their powers enhanced?

To show how massive a power upgrade for Magneto really is, Cinema Blend details some of the metal-bending mutant’s works in the past.

The website’s list includes Magneto lifting a whole baseball stadium, manipulating a submarine, and even controlling the Golden Gate Bridge itself. If that is Magneto without his powers enhanced, Professor X (James McAvoy) and his team are in deep trouble.

Nevertheless, “X Men Apocalypse” is still a superhero movie so the good guys can be expected to win at the end of the day. Still, nothing can be known for sure until the movie comes out.

“X Men Apocalypse” will debut on May 27, 2016.
