Updates about the highly anticipated DC film “Wonder Woman” have been overflowing on the Internet. More than the excitement it brings with the first heroine to get a solo movie, lead star Gal Gadot, the movie giant continues to tease the fans as why the film will be “pretty dark.”
The Israeli actress revealed on Digital Spy that avid DC fans and moviegoers should be ready to witness the standalone film from a new perspective.
“In ‘Batman vs Superman,’ you get a glimpse of who she is but not where she comes from,” Gadot explained. “In ‘Wonder Woman’, this would be the first time we ever tell the coming-of-age story of how Diana becomes Wonder Woman. It’s very interesting. It has moments of humour, but it’s pretty dark.”
The brunette went on to explain that the upcoming film will depict the origin of the female warrior, back 100 years before she became the fierce Amazonian that fans all know. “She’s this young idealist. She’s pure. Very different to the experienced, super-confident, grown-up woman you’ve seen,” Gadot added.
“It’s going to be a great fun, film with some incredibly deep, interesting and morally relevant themes,” he said. “Patty is just directing the daylights out of it. It’s shot beautifully. It feels so wonderfully period, but also with this wonderful pop sensibility.”
More than that, the titular actress has been receiving compliments from different critics after getting introduced on the latest flick “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” According to the previous reports, her appearance on the film is “incredibly engaging.”
Stay tuned for more updates about “Wonder Woman” which will be out in cinemas on June 2, 2017.
