Actress Gal Gadot emerged as a breakout star in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Her character, Wonder Woman, really stood out. What can fans expect from her upcoming solo movie?
According to Movie Pilot, the film will focus on Wonder Woman’s coming of age story. It will follow Diana Prince’s journey to becoming the iconic superhero. “I think that the heart of the movie is about the coming of age of Diana,” Gadot was quoted as saying.
Just how different will her character be in the solo movie? “She is very different to the Diana that you see in [‘Batman v. Superman’]. She is more naïve and she’s purer. She is a young idealist who does not yet understand the complexities of life,” Gadot told Sci-Fi Now. “In ‘Batman v. Superman,’ you are being introduced to a very experienced, dark Wonder Woman. She has been around for a while. Something happened 100 years ago that made her not want to be involved in a man’s world…We’re going to see how she becomes Wonder Woman.”
The former beauty queen also explained why she was excited to take on the role. “The best thing about [her] is how good and kind and loving she is, and yet none of that negates her power,” Gadot said. ”
“Diana is so passionate about life and she is so passionate about love and truth and justice — and she is very inspiring, even to me.”
The actress also praised her director, Patty Jenkins, for her work in the movie. “One of the reasons why Patty Jenkins agreed to do this movie was because of the core story. The action is fantastic. You will have action — but we have a very, very solid story to tell,” Gadot explained.
“Wonder Woman” is set to hit the big screen on June 2, 2017.
