Hugh Jackman revealed that they already have the full script for “Wolverine 3” but it is not entirely complete.

“We have a script. A full script,” Jackman shared in an interview with Collider. “To tell you, two days ago I got that the full finished-well, it’s not finished, but we’re getting super close-as you can see by the rate of my facial hair. That might give you a good clue that perhaps … yeah, it’s sooner rather than later.”

The outline for the script may be complete but Jackman isn’t ready to begin filming just yet, just like what he said during a different Collider interview last September.

Since this is going to be the last time Jackman will portray the character, he wants the final Wolverine story to be perfect. As of now, he believes that the script still needs a lot of polishing but he assured that it’s close to getting finished. Once they get to a script that is of his liking, ScreenRant says Jackman will immediately give the go signal and start shooting the film.

This, despite “Wolverine 3” having a target release date on Mar. 3 2017 which means they will need to work in completing the script as soon as possible or move the deadline entirely.

There have been no details regarding which Wolverine arc will be focused in the third installment. The only details that have been shared by CinemaBlend is that the film will include the older Charles Xavier portrayed by Patrick Stewart and the timeline will not take repeat during the “X-men” movies but will instead draw stories from various comic book chapters.

Jackman has played Wolverine for over 16 years in six movies. These films were either focused on the clawed mutant or the group he’s affiliated with, the X-Men. There’s also the possibility that he will appear in “X-men: Apocalypse” but that remains to be seen.
