The sixth installment of “A Song of Ice and Fire” is on the wrapping up and polishing stage, notes Yibada. It is stated that George R.R. Martin got all his hands on deck for finishing it and will soon be sent to editors for revisions.

Then, the final revised version will go under proofreading. After that, the final copy will be ready for publishing. Translations will also be published for the non-English readers, according to the website.

The whole process may take up to 6 months, as per Game N Guide. And for that, the forecasted that the most plausible release date will be in January 2017.

Fans of the book have been patiently waiting for the “Winds of Winter” to arrive. The last book “A Feast of Crows” was published in 2011.

Martin has been apologetic for the delay of the book. He said on his online journal that he was most disappointed that the book is not ready yet.

According to his blog, he is sad to say that the book was not finished before 2015 ended. “I have completed and delivered THE WINDS OF WINTER’ on or before the last day of 2015… but the book is not done,” as quoted.

“My editors and publishers are disappointed, HBO is disappointed, my agents and foreign publishers and translators are disappointed… but no one could possibly be more disappointed than me,” the writer added.

But this new update might shed some hope for the fans. Although the information about the release date of the “Winds of Winter” is still to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, the finale of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 is about to be unveiled as well. The ninth episode entitled “The Battle of the Bastards” was just aired and still waiting for review and recap, while the last episode “The Winds of Winter” will be aired on June 26, 9PM on HBO.
