Nintendo will more likely be happy after a new report showing that their Wii U home console is selling well in Japan. It has been reported that the sales for Wii U console has surged to 150 percent last week after the release of the home console version of Pokken Tournament. This was according to GameSpot with their report of the sales.

The report came from the Japanese gaming website/magazine Famitsu, which was then shared by MCV. The Nintendo Wii U-exclusive game has sold 72,505 units in Japan since the first week of release, making it the top-selling game for this week. This also contributed to the increase sale figures for the Wii U console as well, as it jumped to 151 percent where in the previous week it was around 3,836. Now it has jumped to 9,644 consoles sold.

Though the Wii U has gained some strength, the PlayStation 4 still dominated the market as it managed to sell 27,354 for this week. As for the software, the PlayStation Vita game “Digimon World: Next Order” is close to second next to Pokken Tournament, where it got 52,521 units sold. Last week, Tom Clancy’s The Division for the PS4 was on the top spot in terms of best selling games.
