Fans still have to wait for almost half a year before Walking Dead Season 7 premieres. But actor Norman Reedus assures viewers that the return of the hit AMC show will be “worth the wait.”

Reedus, who plays fan favourite Daryl Dixon, recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly to talk about the upcoming season. “It’s worth the wait, trust me,” he said. “I think probably the planet is going to explode [when it premieres]. That’s my feeling. It’s so good.”

The actor is wary of giving any spoiler away, though. “I don’t like spoilers, to be honest,” Reedus revealed in his EW interview. “I don’t like them, so I don’t do them. I like the enthusiasm behind everyone wanting to know, but it’s a good feeling to have that enthusiasm, so let’s hold onto it.”

However, Reedus did say that the show’s next instalment might just be their best one yet. “Every time we go on a promotional tour talking about what’s going to come, we all say ‘Oh my God, it’s amazing. I can’t wait for you to see it.’ But it continually surprises me how this show grows and is put together…It blows my mind,” the show’s star explained. “It just continually reaches a new plateau every single time, and this is the highest plateau we’ve ever been.”

Meanwhile, the show’s co-creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman earlier promised “a pretty awesome ride” for Walking Dead Season 7. “The only thing I can promise you is that the season seven premiere is going to be awesome,” Kirkman was quoted by E! Online as saying. “Every minute of the season six finale was important and was setting something up that you probably won’t see coming. It’s a cool episode…there’s a lot more for Negan to do. Be afraid…be very afraid. And excited!”
