“The Walking Dead” Season 6 ended with quite a shocking cliffhanger. Spoiler Alert! The finale ended with a fan favourite shot by Dwight. Did this character really die?

In an interview with TV Line, actor Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl in the hit show, talked about the finale and his character’s fate. “I can’t say whether or not he’s dead. But he is definitely shot,” he told TV Line. “Exactly what you see happens, happens. It’s not a trick. It’s definitely Daryl getting shot. I won’t tell you where he’s getting shot. But you see [Dwight] pull the trigger, and that’s Daryl’s blood.”

It was previously speculated that Daryl might be killed off in the finale. And Reedus did admit earlier that season 6 made him cry. Is his character’s death the reason why? Did Dwight really kill Daryl?

Meanwhile, Austin Amelio, who plays Dwight in the series, said his character didn’t really want to kill Daryl. “He doesn’t have any intention on killing him,” the actor told Tech Insider. “He’s been through a rough patch and I think he wants to show that he means business, and he knows that by shooting him he gets his point across. I could have gone for the head. I didn’t. I went for the right shoulder. He’s not going to die. He’ll be okay.” The episode did end with Dwight saying, “Don’t worry, you’ll be all right.” Does this mean Daryl will really come out of this alive?

Reedus isn’t so sure. “I never feel secure. I don’t think any of us feel secure,” the actor told TV Line. “I think every single one of us on the show knows that we can go at any time. That’s the world that we’re living in. That’s the reality. We could all go at any time.”
