Creator of “The Walking Dead,” Robert Kirkman has confirmed that Clementine returns on Season 3 of Telltale’s “The Walking Dead,” but hints that the fans perhaps will see an older version of her.

Right from the beginning, Clementine has been an important character of The Walking Dead games from Telltale, and she will also play a major role in season 3.

Kirkman revealed the news in a new clip about Telltale’s adaptations prior to the Michonne miniseries’ April 26 finale. “We’ll be checking in on Clementine again,” he clarifies, “so we’ll be seeing her, seeing where she’s at and what’s going on with her, which is going to be great.”

However, Kirkman also clarifies that “Season 3 will have in common with the current comics and timeline,  with some expectations for Clementine.”

IGN reports, Seasons 1 and 2 of the Telltale games occur from the opening of The Walking Dead timeline; however, the comics have since jumped to around four years after the initial outbreak. As a result, we’ll see a notably older Clementine in the next season.

On the other hand, Kirkman does not explain whether Clementine will remain a central character.

Kirkman further reveals that the new season will be more closely related to the events of the comic series. Comparing it to the Michonne mini-series that shows a section of that character’s history never discovered in the comic, Kirkman says: “I think that there will be some more comic book elements that we’ll be working in some interesting ways. I don’t want to reveal too much, but it’ll definitely go hand-in-hand with the comics a little bit more than Season 2 did.”

While the show-runners have yet to confirm the release date, the fans can expect that Season 3 will arrive in 2016.

Whether the characters and the story have the potentiality to excite the viewers, we will find that out as soon as the series starts to air.
