Vampire Diaries Season 8 will return this October. Ahead of the final season of The CW’s hit supernatural show, reports revealed its first three episode titles. Likewise, it seems to have hinted possible flashbacks from Season 1. Does this also confirm Nina Dobrev’s appearance on the show?

One of the biggest questions on Season 8 is whether Nina Dobrev will return or not. Her exit from Vampire Diaries Season 6 seems to have brought troubles to the show’s ratings. Moreover, avid Elena Gilbert and Delena fans refused to watch the show without Dobrev.

During Season 7, her former co-stars hinted that Elena will still be present on the characters’ memories. Her boyfriend Damon Salvatore had to endure the pain of losing her in a sleeping spell. Towards the end of the season, viewers even heard Nina Dobrev’s voice speaking to Damon. It seems Dobrev still has the heart to come back for TVD. Julie Plec has already written the show’s ending involving Elena Gilbert. But should Dobrev change her mind to return, Plec also prepared a back up plan.

“We backed Julie [Plec] in her decision…there are discussions going on with Nina, we’d love to have her back…These are discussions that go on, hopefully she’ll be back, but should it not work out, Julie has planned out a great series finale for fans,” CW boss Mark Pedowitz earlier said.

About a few weeks ago, reports also mentioned proof of Dobrev’s return. Her IMDb page showed that she will appear in Episode 17 of Vampire Diaries Season 8.

Now, Melty revealed that these are the episode titles of the first three episodes. Previous reports mentioned that the season’s episode titles will be lines from the first season. The premiere episode title is Hello, Brother which happened to be Damon’s line in the pilot episode. Episode 2 has the title Today Will Be Different – which Elena wrote in her diary. And, the title for Episode 3 is You Decided That I Was Worth Saving which was a phrase from Season 1’s finale.

As such, it seems Vampire Diaries Season 8 will likely feature flashbacks from the past seasons too. But, will Nina Dobrev really return to the show?
