CW has released the synopsis for “Vampire Diaries” Season 8 and it hinted Damon’s life will be in danger after he sought revenge against his mother.

Melty shared a brief synopsis for the next installment of TVD while fans are waiting for the premiere. It reads: “The triangle of Stefan, Caroline and Alaric will team up with Bonnie in Season 8 to search for the two most important men in her life – even though Damon and Enzo may be long past saving.”

TVD star Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan, earlier teased that the upcoming season will be dark and twisted, Melty reported.

CW has also given fans a little recap of the last season in which Damon (Ian Somerhalder) pursued a vendetta against his mother Lily, who had abandoned her sons to take care for vampire-witches called the Heretics. Lily decision has put Mystic Falls on the radar of vampire-hunter Rayna Cruz. Rayna targeted Stefan which forced Damon to find ways how to defeat her. Damon enlisted the help of the Armory, a shadowy group with ties with Enzo. However, the Armory have their own agenda and robbed Bonnie’s magic which put her life in danger.  To break the curse, Damon and Enzo went into the Armory’s occult vault, where an evil presence overcome them.

It seems that Bonnie’s life will still be in danger even in season 8. Kat Graham, who portrayed the character, earlier announced that she will be leaving “Vampire Diaries” after season 7.

Meanwhile, fans would like to see other former characters of TVD come back in the show aside from Elena Gilbert, which was played by Nina Dobrev.

Hypable  made a survey recently and asked fans which TVD characters they would like to see again and several names were suggested.

In the poll, Elena received 25 percent of votes. TVD fans also wanted to see Rebekah (Claire Holt), Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino), Katherine Pierce (also played by Dobrev), Lexi Branson (Arielle Kebbel), and Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) of “The Originals” to come back.

The Inquisitr noted that many TVD actors were either killed off or have left the show on their own. However, the characters that they left behind could come back anytime considering the mystical storyline of the series.

The premiere date for “Vampire Diaries” Season 8 has not been announced yet, but it is expected to return on The CW this year.
