The second half of “Once Upon a Time” season 5 will not come back on air until the spring, but now fans can have a first look on what it is to come, specifically on what’s in store for Killian Jones/Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue).
The Hollywood Reporter reveals an exclusive glimpse of a poster art that shows Hook–seemingly refreshed, considering his untimely death in the mid-season finale–with piercing blue eyes. Although this picture is nothing really out of the ordinary, additional details in the poster suggest that Hook’s trip to the Underworld will be a fiery one.
The iconic “Once Upon a Time” apple also takes center stage in the poster art.

Meanwhile, although Hook’s look in the poster does not show much changes of the beloved pirate, show creator Adam Horowitz reveals that he may not be the same person again when the series returns. Horowitz was quoted by THR in saying:
“He’s gone through a lot, as has Emma (Jennifer Morrison)— as have all of them — so no one’s the same.”
With Horowitz’s “no one’s the same hint”, could it be possible that Hook becomes some sort of important persona when he arrives at the Underworld–even go as far as become God?
Perhaps, but since it was reported that Hades’ appearance in the second half of the season is confirmed, Hook may be nothing more than a wanderer in the realm of the dead.
Nevertheless, CarterMatt points out that featuring Hook in the promotional poster for the second half of season 5 makes sense because the upcoming storyline will be about the Charmings’ (and other characters’) quest to find him.
It remains to be seen how the show will weave the fans’ favorite fairy tale characters into one of Greek mythology’s realms.
“Once Upon a Time” season 5 returns on March 6, Sunday at 8 p.m. on ABC Family/Freeform.
