The 2016/17 UEFA Champions League play-off draw has been set on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016. The event will be held at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland and will be streamed live starting at 12:00 p.m. CET on the official UEFA website.

The play-off draw involves the winners of the third qualifying leg, which was concluded this week. Twenty teams will participate in the draw, with 10 teams each coming through the Champions route and 10 teams coming through the League route based on the current Champions League qualification format.

There will be a total of 10 play-off ties, which will be played in a home and away format. The first leg games will be on Aug. 16/17 and the return legs will be played on Aug. 23/24.

The 10 teams that will advance from the play-offs will join the 22 other teams that have already qualified for the group stage. The groups will be determined by another draw scheduled to take place on Aug. 25.
