Juventus will host Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Juventus Stadium starting 7:45 PM GMT.

Injury concerns may be the top priority for Pep Guardiola at this moment as they look to take up the challenge against the “in-form” Juve, notes BBC.

“We don’t have any central defenders, that’s how it is. We’ve got to avoid conceding set-pieces,” Guardiola said.

“They are maybe the best team in Europe from set-pieces.”

Munich will be without centre-backs Javi Martínez, Jerome Boateng and Holger Badstuber.

Guardiola will be heading to Manchester City next summer as their new manager, but not before pushing Munich for the Champions League title win. The Spaniard has led Barcelona twice into winning the European Championship and he will hope to leave Germany with at least one title for Munich

Juventus are in a terrific run this season. The finalists of last year’s championship, they didn’t exactly start the season well but picked up pace later.

The ESPN FC reports that Massimiliano Allegri’s team are on a “16-game unbeaten run at home” in the Champions League. Playing Munich is not a simple task but will bank on their home support to topple the Munich team.

The football club’s goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon was quoted as saying, “We’ll be up against a very strong team with very few, if any, weaknesses. But we’re also on the up. We’re a lot more self-assured than we were three years ago.”

Giorgio Chiellini and Alex Sandro are uncertain for the home game against Munich. Mario Mandzukic is recovering from a calf problem but will join the team for the upcoming clash. Midfielder Sami Khedira will start the proceedings for Juventus against his former team.

Arsenal play Barcelona today at the New Emirates Stadium  to kick off their Champions League Last 16 campaign.
