If you’ve been a fan of Microsoft’s Windows mobile operating system, then you may have invested quite a lot in getting Lumia devices. However, with the constant changes that are about the smartphone market, your Windows-powered handsets may just be gathering dust in the closet. Now, if you want to rekindle your love for Microsoft’s unified ecosystem and you want to go for the flagship models, the Redmond-based company has just announced that it is taking in previous Lumia models as a trade-in for its latest flagships.
For those who are interested in getting a Microsoft Lumia 950 or a Lumia 950 XL, the company is currently running a promotion that lets users trade in their Lumia 920, 925, and 1020 to avail a AU$195 (US$150) discount on the current flagships from the software giant.
Users can start appraising their Lumia devices by heading to Microsoft’s online trade-in website. The page will first ask you which phone you have. You’re given a choice among a Lumia 920, a Lumia 925, and a Lumia 1020. Clicking on one will direct you to a new page that will ask you if your device is still working, and if you will be including a charger in the package. If you’re worried about making online transactions, Microsoft is also allowing trade-ins at its physical store.
The offer is valid only from April 12 to June 30, 2016. It will also work only until there are supplies available, so it’s not a surefire way in getting discounts if you’re waiting things out. The company requires that the eligible device you are trading is fully functioning and can hold a charge. Furthermore, there must not be any broken or missing components, cracks on the display panel or even the housing, liquid damage, modifications, and warranty tampering. The promotion is open only in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.
