It’s good to exchange notes with those who have experience. That’s what “Thor: Ragnarok” director Taika Waititi did. However, instead of highlighted text book notes, he got some great tips from James Gunn and Peyton Reed for “Thor 3.”

Waititi is tasked to direct the Norse God epic “Thor 3.” James Gunn has experience with “Guardians of the Galaxy” and Reed has directed the successful “Ant-Man.” All of them belong to the Marvel Cinematic Universe so Waititi took to Twitter to get a few things straight for “Thor 3,” states Comic Book.

“Hey guys. When you’re making one of these big movies, how many explosions are you supposed to put in? I have one,” asked Waititi. “And it’s not so much an explosion – more of a ‘boink’ sound,” he added. Reed was quick to reply with a “check your contract on this one.”

“Hmm. That’s not gonna cut it, Taika. Check your contract. Marvel minimum is 42 onscreen explosions. Required!” Reed said. “And they’re strict! They didn’t even count my Pym Tech explosion because “technically it’s an Implosion,” he added. “Twelve. Add 11 school buses full of kids exploding & you’ll be good. People love that in superhero movies,” added Gunn.

Fashion & Style informs that Waititi later joked about his nerves to “Doctor Strange” director Scott Derrickson. “Hey man, don’t tell anyone at Marvel but I’m freaking out. Strictly confidential!” he tweeted.

Movie Web explains that “Thor 3” is being hyped as the darkest movie from Marvel ever. It is murmured that the studio brought in Waititi to sort of balance the epic. Waititi has experience with light-hearted indie comedies such as “Eagle vs. Shark” and “What We Do in the Shadows.”

The “Thor 3” cast is expected to land in Australia to begin filming and it will hit the screens late next year. It is only then that we will know whether the exchange of notes really paid off.
