The Walking Dead Season 6 left fans with a controversial cliffhanger with Negan (Jeffrey Dean-Morgan) hacking someone’s brains out. There’s little information about the unfortunate soul who perished in Negan’s hands, but the comics from which the series is based may have left a shocking clue for The Walking Dead Season 7—and viewers may not want to believe it.
In The Walking Dead comics, Glenn (Steven Yeun) died by Negan’s bat Lucille. He would be the safe and obvious choice, and his filming schedule appears to coincide with this as well. According to the Inquisitr, Yeun has signed up for a movie entitled Okja and co-stars Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Paul Dano have begun filming the movie. Meanwhile, filming for The Walking Dead Season 7 begins on May 2, indicating a potential filming conflict for the actor.
Does this mean Glenn Rhee has officially checked out in The Walking Dead Season 7? Not yet. There are other candidates: Daryl or Abraham. Daryl is the show’s wildcard since he wasn’t part of the original comic book series. But the show would cross a dangerous path if they killed off Norman Reedus’ character. Remember how everyone thought Glenn died in the middle of Season 6? It will be the same frenzy, perhaps even worse.
And then there’s Abraham (Michael Cudlitz).
“Abraham is the biggest guy in the group. Negan taking him out sends a huge message to Rick and everyone else,” an on-set source told Celeb Dirty Laundry. While the death is still wrapped in mystery for now, one thing’s for sure: Negan’s killing spree is only getting started.
Speaking at the Chiller Expo, The Walking Dead star Seth Gilliam teased that a lot of tears will be shed in Season 7.
“I think there will be a good deal of shock, a lot of heartbreak and what I can say is that Negan is far from done,” Gilliam said.
Viewers can expect Negan’s kill count to rise in The Walking Dead Season 7 since the comic books alone he has caused the death of over 12 characters. Fans have not seen the last of Negan yet.
