The hype surrounding Teen Wolf Season 6 seems to have turned sour. This was after the announcement that Season 6 will be the last for MTV’s hit supernatural show. Moreover, another dilemma has come as Dylan O’Brien’s character’s fate was revealed.
When Teen Wolf Season 5 ended last March, there were already speculations about the next season. Will it get cancelled? Or, will it be the final season? Reports mentioned that Jeff Davis had already considered leaving the show. Thus, there was no reason to continue. Although Tyler Posey expressed his interest to take over Davis, it seems there are far greater reasons as to why the show has come to an end.
At the San Diego Comic Con 2016, Tyler Posey, Holland Roden, Dylan Sprayberry, Cody Christian and Khylin Rhambo joined the panel. Alongside Executive Producer Jeff Davis, they announced that the upcoming season is the show’s last season. The Wrap included the statement released by Teen Wolf.
“Teen Wolf’ has been an extraordinary journey, one that captured the hearts and imaginations of fans more than we could’ve ever imagined,” Davis said.”We’re eternally grateful for the support we’ve received over these past six years and we’re excited to take our brave fans on one last, thrilling adventure”.
Meanwhile, Dylan O’Brien’s Stiles will indeed be an important character this season. The cast and crew revealed that the Ghost Riders will be the main villains. And according to The Wrap, it seems they’re target is Stiles.
After O’Brien’s tragic accident on Maze Runner 3 set, the show finally debunked rumours if Stiles will get kidnapped on Episode 1. The site noted that these villains will erase Stiles’ memories.
“The legend has always been that The Wild Hunt takes people, but the truth is much worse,” Seth Gilliam said in the video clip. “They erase people from reality.”
Teen Wolf Season 6 will premiere in November. The season’s final episode will also be its 100th episode.
