Taylor Lautner is finally joining the world of Instagram. However, he needed a little help getting started, and in order to make that happen, he had to use his A-list connection to Taylor Swift.
Even though Taylor Lautner is new to IG, he’s had an active Facebook page for quite some time. Fortunately for his fans, it seems that he is finally spreading his wings to other forms of social media.
“Hello Instagram! It only took me until the years 2016 to finally join, sorry I’m so late to the party haha,” Taylor Lautner wrote in his first post. “Huge thank you to my buds @AdamSandler and @DavidSpade for helping me introduce my page.”
Guest-starring both Adam Sandler and David Spade, the hilarious teaser clip features a backflip from Taylor Lautner and a funny moment where he seems to offer up the “Bad Blood” singer’s phone number in a bid to win more followers, People reports.
Meanwhile, his former flame boasts more than 77.5 million followers on the social media site.
Taylor Lautner and Swift dated briefly after co-starring in the 2010 romantic comedy “Valentine’s Day.”
“It was never a big deal to begin with. The media made way more out of it than it is,” a source close to Swift told People at the time. “They went out on a few dates and realised this was just not going anywhere.”
The source added that “They became good friends and then went out a few times, but he lives in L.A. and she lives in Nashville and their busy schedules kept it from becoming more than it was.”
Swift was famously rumoured to have written her hit, “Back to December,” about her breakup with Taylor Lautner.
Hollywood Life reported that the “Shake it Off” singer even added fuel to the fire during a 2011 concert in Los Angeles by dedicating the song to “the boy from Michigan” and making her way to the audience to give Taylor Lautner a hug.
