This video of a 14-year-old girl covering Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” for Postmodern Jukebox is sure to take your breath away.
Caroline Baran, who is just 14 years old, is blessed with an incredible voice. The PMJ team was so impressed with the voice of this little girl during their #PMJ search contest that they immediately booked her and her mother’s ticket to Los Angeles so that she could record a PMJ video with them.
The video is winning the internet right now. Published on April 21, it has managed to get more than two hundred thousand views. The depiction of the Lauper song runs for four minutes twenty seconds. But, the magical effect of her voice lingers longer. The video also features the PMJ band and Lara Somogyi’s peaceful harp playing.
While appreciating a true talent like her, youngsters also have been sharing it incessantly on social media sites. “Love the fact that PMJ highlights talent like this. Good on you, Caroline. Being this astounding at only 14 is mindblowing, and you’ve got an exceptional future ahead of you,” writes one of the impressed viewers. “Wow! Caroline is an amazing talent, especially at her age. Keep on going, young lady,” writes another. “Outstanding voice and exquisitely performed. Greetings from Austria,” adds another viewer and the unending list of comments go on.
Love has been pouring in from all over the world and people having requesting her to cover their favorite songs on Youtube. “Will you please do, “I don’t want to set the world on fire”- by the Inkspots please,” writes a young female. “Please do a Melanie Martinez or Twenty One Pilots song,” adds another.
