Will Darth Vader have a bigger role in the next instalment of the “Star Wars” franchise?

“A Rogue One,” would not be out for another nine months. But details about it have already emerged. According to Inquisitr, the upcoming movie will explore the events directly preceding that of “A New Hope.” The movie is reportedly set to focus on the “team of Rebels tasked with stealing the plans for the Death Star.” Given this info, should fans expect Darth Vader to play a larger role in the upcoming movie?

According to Movie Pilot, fans can expect to see Darth Vader actually make an appearance in the film. Actor James Earl Jones will be returning to voice the infamous Sith Lord. The iconic character’s suit from “A New Hope” is also reportedly being recreated for “A Rogue One.”

It was earlier speculated that Vader will only appear in the next movie as a hologram. He is still expected to act as a “guiding presence” for the film’s primary antagonist. However, he might now be expected to give orders in the flesh. He might even reuse his light saber to engage in battle with the Rebels. “[H]e will be decapitating and dismembering Rebels on the battlefield!” Movie Pilot said. Will Vader also be facing off with remnant Jedi? No word as of yet to confirm this. However, Inquisitr did point out, that if this were to happen, it could make for “one of the film’s more interesting fights.”

“A New Hope” is the first movie produced under the “Star Wars” franchise. It was later re-titled as “Episode 4” to make way for the three prequel movies. Episode 7, “The Force Awakens,” is one of the most successful movies of 2015. Episode 8 is set to for release in 2017. “A Rogue One” meanwhile will hit theatres on December 16, 2016.
