Latest Star Wars Rogue One theories about Darth Vader continue to spread like wildfire online. While it is predicted that the super villain will make an appearance, no confirmation from the movie’s cast or crew has been made as of writing.
As Melty reported, the newest trailer for the Star Wars standalone movie might have hinted Darth Vader getting a massive overhaul- new limbs and all. The report also speculated that Luke Skywalker’s father might actually get a new suit similar to the one he donned in “A New Hope.”
“One source is certain that the blue tank we see in the teaser has Darth Vader inside it,” Making Star Wars’ Editor-in-Chief Jason Ward claimed. “They believe a sequence was filmed in which Darth Vader gets his limbs interchanged and repaired in the movie.”
Previous rumours suggested that Supreme Leader Snoke could be the one in the trailer, but new theories are leaning towards the Darth Vader angle as of now, claiming that is a more “plausible” scenario.
Meanwhile, other “Star Wars Rogue One” theories are hinting that other iconic characters from the two trilogies might find their way to the new Lucasfilm flick. Mads Mikkelsen, who plays the father of Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso, recently revealed some juicy details that could possibly involve Luke and Princess Leia.
“Some of them – but I would reveal too much,” Mikkelson replied when asked about the rumoured cameos, Evening Standard reported. “There are iconic characters in our film and also characters you have never heard of. It’s a mix.”
As for his role in the movie, and his working relationship with his co-star and on-screen daughter, the “Hannibal” actor had this to share: “I spend a lot of time with [Jones] and she’s a wonderful actress,” the actor said. “I play her dad at the time of Felicity and I play her dad when she’s younger, so we jump back and forth in time.”
“Star Wars: Rogue One” is slated for a December 15, 2016 release.
