It’s no question by now that “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has become the widest grossing film of all time. Managing to make a killing in the United States box office and smashing Avatar’s world speed record, Disney has easily scored big with the seventh installment of the franchise. It doesn’t stop there, however, as the film is closing in on the $2 billion mark in worldwide box office.

What’s more, that’s not where the good news stops. It has been over a month since “The Force Awakens” took over the world by storm as it made its way into the big screen, and its massive fanbase has been at the edge of their seats anticipating to get their very own home copies of the film. Of course, who wouldn’t be thrilled to watch Kylo Ren and Rey battle it out, not to mention the inclusion of bonus content such as deleted scenes and commentaries. Now, it looks like we’re seeing a release date for it. Mark your calendars, everyone. Amazon indicates that “The Force Awakens” will come in its majestic Blu-Ray glory on April 5th, 2016.

In two months time, you’ll be a proud owner of a copy of the film and you can then watch it at your own leisure. There’s no sign as to when the digital version of the film will come out, but it usually arrives a couple of weeks earlier than the hard copy.

Deleted scenes from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will duly be present. However, J.J. Abrams himself did confirm that there will not be an extended version of the film. For all we know, Luke Skywalker may be getting screen time in those, seeing that he also voiced over the trailer.

Pretty soon, you won’t have to dish out more bucks for movie tickets in order to watch The Force Awakens, and you can now pre-order at Amazon if you wish.
