Ever heard of a female Yoda? Avid fans of “Star Wars” films know that Master Yoda trained Luke Skywalker to fight against the evil Galactic Empire. Wouldn’t it be cool to have her on the latest film installment of “Star Wars”?

Well, unlikely because according to Movie Pilot, the concept of a female Yoda is not new. For not-so-hardcore fans of Star Wars, you probably missed out on the female Yoda called Yaddle in the past films.

The site mentioned that Yaddle was a “pretty badass” Jedi Master. She teamed up with famous Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ana Skywalker on several galaxy missions. However, Movie Pilot wrote that viewers barely knew about her existence.

Yaddle was a Padawan whose Jedi Master was killed in a battle. After being left alone, the enemies wanted to get information from Yaddle but she refused.

They took her in an underground cell and locked her for a century. Thus, she got her nickname, “The One Below.” In her cell, she was able to unite with the Force – which kept her alive. She was able to escape her cell because of a natural disaster.

After the Jedi council learned about her unity with the Force, they allowed Yaddle to join them despite being a Jedi apprentice. Master Yoda was initially against her inclusion but because majority of the council was for it, he soon approved. Later, Yaddle became a Jedi Master who was known for “her wisdom and good advice.”

But will she be back on “Star Wars: The Force Awakens“?

Sadly, no. She sacrificed herself during a galactic mission. As their enemy released a weapon to destroy the planet, Yaddle used the Force to absorb the weapon.

With only two weeks away from the sequel’s premiere, the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker is still unknown. Is he the movie’s villain now?

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will hit theatres on December 18.
