The announcement of Sony Xperia Z5 was made months ago at IFA 2015 in Berlin and now the flagship devices will finally be landing in the US.

As shared by Tech Radar, folks in the UK have already been graced with the Xperia Z5 for quite awhile now. As for the US, the Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact would be the first Sony devices to be coming their way after the Sony Z3 was launched.

The Sony flagship Z5 is equipped with a 5.2-inch display, Snapdragon 810 processor along with 3GB RAM and it runs Android Lollipop. The handset is fueled by 2,900 mAh battery and also features a MicroSD card slot. It boasts of a mean 23MP primary camera and is also waterproof. It isn’t the best for rough use though since the rear panel is draped with frosted glass, which could break easily.

The Z5 Compact boasts of similar features as its larger counterpart including the 23MP snapper. The downgrades for the Compact read out to be a 4.6-inch display and 2GB RAM. The screen on this one isn’t Full HD but features 720p resolutions display and also a neat 2700mAh battery. Those wanting to get their hands on these should note that the flagships arriving in the US won’t be possessing fingerprint sensors, as noted by The Verge.

The Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact will be wearing the price tag that reads $599.99 and $499.99, respectively. Fans will be able to snag one of these starting February 7, 2016. The devices can be purchased unlocked on GSM Networks in the country like like AT&T and T-Mobile. It isn’t known whether the Z5 Premium embedded with 4K screen will be making its way to US shores. Fans can keep their fingers crossed. Sony Xperia loyalists can keep coming back for more updates on the latest line-up.
