Fans of Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter video game might have to wait to experience it on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.  Frogwares and Bigben have re-scheduled the Sherlock Holmes release date for fall 2016. Are they adding new quests to the game?

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter is an adventure video game in the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes series developed by Frogwares and published by Bigben. The game is designed to be played on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016.

Despite the mysterious news of the PC version’s delay, it was launched via Steam as originally planned. Earlier it was also announced by the developers that the console versions of the game will arrive on PS4 and Xbox One later this summer. But now the fans won’t be able to enjoy it on their gaming devices before fall.

The console versions of Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter for on PS4 and Xbox One is already out in Europe. However, the players of the rest of the world are still twiddling their thumbs in hope because Frogwares and BigBen have pushed the release back to the fall.

The reason behind the delay is not yet known as there is no word from the developers on the matter, so far. We can assume the console versions will come up with more adventure and quests for the gamers to solve. However, reliable sources like Gameinformer  reports that BigBen will announce an official date soon.

Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter is a descendant of sorts to Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments. The gameplay has a similar plot where the legendary British private detective Sherlock Holmes solves five mysteries depending on how the trainer construes the clues he discovers. If the player goes wrong anywhere while solving the case and identify the wrong culprit, it will have an impact upon Holmes and other in-game characters. It is a game to be played with intelligence and common sense.

For the gamers, the new detective game would have been an interesting summer treat but the delay has spoiled it all.

Since the developers have pushed the Sherlock Holmes release date to fall, we highly expect that it will worth the wait.
