Fans have been rooting for Shawn Mendes and Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello to officially become a couple. But, how do they take those dating rumors? Camila recently revealed what she thinks of “Shamila” becoming a hot topic.

Speaking to Sugarscape, Camila admitted that those rumors “don’t bother her.” While fans look forward to the day they fall for each other completely, it looks like fans need to keep their fingers crossed.

“When it comes to Shawn the speculation doesn’t really bother me because we’re just really great friends. But if I could give any advice to girls that get hate when they have close friendships with a guy is that at the end of the day, all that matters is that you surround yourself with people that make you happy and if people around you hate on you for that, then they’re not really people you want in your life anyway,” Camila revealed on the site.

On the other hand, Shawn Mendes did admit she loves the singer but their relationship is said to be “purely platonic.

“She’s phenomenal. I love her and she’s so talented. She’s one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met and super, super-smart. We aren’t dating, but musically, she blows my mind,” Shawn revealed.

The two singers’ hit collaboration “I Know What You Did Last Summer” was reported to have been certified Silver in the UK, another Sugarscape report confirmed. This meant that their record sold over 200,000 units. How awesome is that, right? They even won favorite fan made video award for the said song at the iHeartRadio MMVA’s which means fans are totally digging them.

Although both insist to be just friends, “Shamila” fans are not losing hope that they could become more than that.

Meanwhile, their hit song could be followed by another epic duet. However, Shawn is open to the possibility of working with all Fifth Harmony members.

“Yeah, I love the girls. I’ve known them for a very long time, since I’ve started music, so I love them all. I would love to,” he said.
