Scarlet Witch has played a vital role in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “Captain America: Civil War.” So does this mean that Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch is ready for her very own movie? Elizabeth Olsen, who plays the fictional superhero, may have her reservations but she is not shooting down the idea.
“It’s not something I’m opposed to, but it’s also something that has to make a lot of sense. I wouldn’t just do it just to do it,” Elizabeth Olsen told The Huffington Post. “It’d have to make sense for how it advances in the world. But I’d be open to talking about it. I’d never say no to just an idea.”
Giving Scarlet Witch her own movie could also help diversify the current slate of Marvel films. Since the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe remains firmly a male-lead affair, it is definitely going to be refreshing to finally have a female-driven Marvel movie.

Despite the exciting news of a possible “Scarlet Witch” movie, not all Marvel fans are happy about it. Many preferred that Marvel will prioritize a Black Widow movie first before jumping into Scarlet Witch story.
Since being introduced in 2010, Black Widow has been an important player in Marvel. However, aside from Hawkeye, Black Widow is the only one of the Avengers to not star in her own movie.
This has been to the dismay of many fans, including actor Clark Gregg, a.k.a. Phil Coulson on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., who believes it’s time for Black Widow to go on her own adventure.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Gregg shared his disappointment saying, Black Widow has been around from day one of this, and is portrayed with this kind of heavy-hearted ferocity by Scarlett Johansson – who I think is as good as any actor working today.”
He then added “It seems like it would be tragic, it would be a waste if that character wasn’t given the spotlight in the way that some of the other characters have been. If I know Marvel, they won’t let that happen, because she’s too valuable an asset.”
