The word around the street suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S7 lineup may be dropping one member from the family, when the flagship is launched at the MWC 2016.
Details of the complete Galaxy S7 lineup have been shrouded in uncertainty since rumors about the company launching S7 Edge as well as a Galaxy S7 Edge Plus along with the standard model have surfaced. Last year, the Korean company unveiled the Galaxy S6 Edge model along with the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus variant. And rumors hinted that this year, the company would be launching multiple models in the Galaxy S7 series as well.
A tweet by popular leaker @evleaks sparked off predictions about what fans can expect from Samsung’s 2016 flagship. The tweet depicted a graphic listing of the Galaxy S7, S7 edge and S7 edge plus.
Honestly surprised by this (though it does explain a lot). pic.twitter.com/B7fL41qShm

While this may have many Samsung loyalists looking forward to the D-day, in turn of events, another leak by @evleaks suggested that the plus variant may not be released. Following a graphic reading: Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, @evleaks wrote, “And then there were two.” This clearly implies that he thinks Samsung will not be unveiling a Plus model this month.
Fans shouldn’t lose all hope since it is still unclear whether he implies it won’t be launching at all, or simply that it won’t be released alongside the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge variants and would be out later in the year.
Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to be announced on February 21, a day before MWC 2016 kicks off. Interestingly, LG’s flagship event is also scheduled on the same day. It looks like the rivals will really be going head-to-head in Barcelona this month.
Samsung loyalists who can’t head to Barcelona to witness the launch, can catch the livestream of the unveiling on the Korean tech company’s official YouTube Channel.
