Fans have already heard that in most likelihood, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be coming their way this year and not the Galaxy Note 6. It is being widely believed that the 2016 Samsung Note will be skipping a digit since the company would like the title of the new offering to line up with the Galaxy S series.

A recent leak confirms that it could well be the Note 7 which will be gracing the tech scene this year. NowhereElse got its hands on an image branded with the number “7” and the words “The Next Note” etched below. However, since the image doesn’t feature any Samsung branding and cannot be authenticated, it’s best to take this detail with a pinch of salt.

What’s interesting is that uSwitch has gone ahead and created a video based on the details about the Galaxy Note 7 shared by NowhereElse. It reveals that the handset will be sporting a 153.5mm x 73.9mm x 7.9mm chassis, quite similar to its predecessor. While it is speculated that the Note 7 will be equipped with a dual camera, the video doesn’t confirm. However, it does suggest that the offering will be equipped with a USB-C port.

Fans have seen Samsung steer clear of the USB-C ports, but it seems that the Note 7 could well be possessing one. The rumored spec sheet also reveals the presence of a 4,000mAh battery as well as a 6GB RAM. The chassis is expected to be waterproof and dust-resistant like the Galaxy S6 series and is said to sport a 5.8-inch screen with Quad HD resolution. What may not go down well is if the offering doesn’t land with the upcoming Android N. It is being reported that the smartphone will only arrive with the Marshmallow right out of the box.

Multiple reports have indicated an August launch for the device, which means that the Samsung smartphone release will be followed by the iPhone 7 in September.
