Samsung Galaxy Note 6 has been creating a lot of headlines for all the right reasons, given that it is one of the most highly anticipated devices of the year. A recent report hints at another “Lite” variant of the flagship, which may possess different specifications with a more budget-friendly price tag.

A post on Weibo reveals that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 “Lite” would arrive embedded with Snapdragon 820 processor along with 4GB RAM. So, while the “Lite” version may still have really neat specs, it is the Note 6 that would boast of latest frills. Earlier reports suggest that the Galaxy Note 6 will be embedded with the Snapdragon 823 chipset. The processor is yet to be announced by Qualcomm. Another rumoured feature on the device is the 6GB RAM. If and when the “Lite” version does materialise it will boast of a 5.8-inch display, just like the Note 6. However, it will be a full HD screen on this one as opposed to a Quad HD display.

The other features on both the devices are said to be similar. However, it does seem unlikely that Samsung would make such a move. As noted by Sam Mobile, even if Samsung does go ahead with launching the “Lite” model it may only do so in a select few markets in Asia. And since nothing is confirmed yet, take this rumours with the usual pinch of scepticism.

The Galaxy Note 5 had not made its way to Europe and other few countries which left many loyalists disappointed. However, as per reports, there is a global launch on the cards for the Note 6. Rumours have also shaped up the device as the one with impressive features such as 256GB Storage, USB Type-C port as well as a larger battery. It is being widely accepted that the Note 6 would be dustproof and waterproof as there is no reason why the company wouldn’t adopt this for the phablet when it has done the same for its Galaxy S7 lineup.
