The Rio 2016 has officially been kick-started, as thousands of athletes joined the opening gala of the ceremony. Team Australia looked dashing as it joined other countries.

Team Australia was one of the very first nations to be introduced, thanks to the alphabetical advantage. Flag bearer Anna Meares led the team, while athletes looked jubilant to be a part of the prestigious ceremony.

The official Instagram account for Team Australia shared an image of the opening gala and said the team, led by the legendary flagbearer, “looked a treat.”

As Team Australia entered the Maracanã during the Rio 2016 Opening Ceremony, the stage was all set for a massive welcome. Players waved to the cheerful audience and blew kisses to the camera, as Australia walked with pride.

The spirit of Team Australia was captured by one image by West Australian water polo player Zoe Arancini. She was all smiles with arms spread out, as she wore the “bad boy blazer” to represent the country.

What an unbelievable experience!!! 😁😁 #oneteam #aussiestingers #rio2016olympics

Zoe’s image showed how ecstatic and proud Australia is to be a part of the Olympics. She called it an “unbelievable experience” to witness the Rio 2016 opening gala.

When it comes to Olympics fashion, Australia may have topped the chart. “I think The Aussie uniform at the opening ceremony was the best out of all,” one of the fans said.

Fans want the team to go for gold. One of the fans said Zoe was looking “snazzy” in the uniform. However, some of the fans were not happy that the players used mobile phones during the parade.

The mood was joyful, as athletes did not waste much time to start using their mobiles for taking pictures. “Is it too much to ask to put your mobile away while you are in the Olympics parade?” one of them wondered.

Here’s wishing Team Australia all the best for Rio 2016.
