January might bring in good news for Tennis Fans. And who would want to miss any chance of seeing Rafael Nadal clash against Novak Djokovic on the Tennis court?

According to the AFP reports, “Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic remained on course for their first clash of 2016 as both came through tough quarter-finals on Thursday to reach the last four of the Qatar Open.”

Nadal won 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 beating Andrey Kuznetsov over three sets. It was a thrilling encounter to see Nadal battle it out against the Russian.

Djokovic has been unbelievable with his performance since last year. He marked his presence this year too as he beat Argentina’s Leonardo Mayer, 6-3, 7-5. Though we looked for a more comfortable win, as the Serbian star has to work hard for his win in the second set.

Djokovic remains at number one as he is now looking forward to clash with his rival number two, Nadal. It was mesmerizing to see the old Spaniard bring out the guns from his arsenal when we needed to see the most. And he didn’t disappoint.

“Winning matches in three sets is very good news and very positive thing,” Nadal told reporters.

“That happens when you are fresh mentally, when you are able to analyze well what’s going on in the match.

“And last year I lost a lot of matches like today’s match. So for me it’s so important to win these kind of matches.”

Djokovic is looking forward to his first ever appearance at the Qatar Open. The Yahoo Sports quoted Djokovic as saying, “I think it was a good test. It was good to have a match like this, definitely, to see where I am and I’m just glad to go through this one in straight sets.”

We are eagerly waiting for the high voltage clash. Fans are already content just with the idea of having Nadal play against Djokovic.
