After nearly seven years, a Prison Break sequel is trying to find its way into existence, and it looks like it is finally happening. There have been a lot of interesting factors along the way, and now the executive producer and writer Vaun Wilmott has some shocking revelation about Prison Break Season 5.

On and off, the cast of the upcoming sequel is handing out updates about the new story. A few days back, we saw an image on Instagram posted by actor Dominic Purcell, where he showed off his inked arms. Interestingly, his tattoos hold resemblance to the maps and blueprints of what Michael Scofield had on his body for the last four seasons.

Later on, we came to know that Prison Break Season 5 may be the last for Dominic Purcell’s Lincoln Burrows. Rumors are rife that Burrows might meet his last in the process of freeing his brother Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller). After all, it’s his payback time!

Adding to our surprise, writer Wilmott recently shared a teaser image featuring Michael Scofield on his Twitter account. The photo is a screenshot of what looks to be a camera monitor showing a scene wherein Michael is looking up. Wilmott captioned the post as: “Michael on the monitor. Looking for a way out. ‘Prison Break’ is back!”

A few images on Willmott’s social media page appear to be the behind-the-scenes photos. They dropped major hints of the plot of the approaching season. From the images, it can be assumed that Prison Break Season 5 will be more on the darker side where violence, hatred and love will emerge in a very intense form. One photo features the first reunion of Michael and Lincoln after tracing his brother’s location (inside a prison cell).

The Prison Break Season 5 writer also provided some snippets to let the fans know what they can expect in the next season. They revealed Michael is going to have a tough time in Season 5 as there will be new enemies rising in the horizon. If the snippets are to be believed, then Prison Break Season 5 episode 8 will be one of the most interesting pieces to watch. As teased by the writer: “There is a scene in episode 8 that will make all of us weep together,” learned CD.

Prison Break Season 5 will most likely be aired in the first quarter of 2017 on FOX.
