It is still a long way before the second half of “Pretty Little Liars” Season 6 comes back on air–a month and 3 weeks–but a special episode will air to soothe the anticipation of fans.
The special, called “Five Years Forward”, will air in order to answer some of the fans’ burning questions after the season’s summer finale and big ‘A’ reveal.
A report from TV Line breaks down the things that can be expected when the special airs on ABC this November 24.
First thing to be revealed in the special relates to the beloved liars and what have they been doing in and out of Rosewood in the five-year span after ”A’ was unmasked.
TV Line also shares that the second thing to be expected is the career of the liars and who their new love interests are.
In addition bonus scenes will be aired, tours of the sets will be shown and the new looks of the liars will be introduced.
However, the most important thing to be addressed in the special–as per the opinion of TV Line–is that “Five Years Forward” will explain how the moms were able to get out of the basement at the DiLaurentis house.
It can be recalled that in Aria, Spencer, Hannah, and Emily’s alternate prom, the PLL moms did some digging in the mystery of Alison’s family. Instead of getting answers, they ended up being locked up in the basement and no resolution has been shown since.
On the other hand, Bustle reports that the continuation of the season will take place a year after the girls are out of college so their real world experiences will be an integral part to the show.
Apart from a special, E! Online reports that a PLL movie could potentially be produced in the future.
The report comes directly from PLL boss Marlene King herself. E! Online quotes King in saying:
“We’ve got some really big ideas for a great PLL movie, but that won’t happen right after the series ends. I think we’ll take a little break and let everybody go off and do a few things and hopefully we’ll come back together again and do something really special.”
“Pretty Little Liars” Season 6B will premiere on January 12 at 8 p.m. on ABC Family/Freeform.
