Now that we’re already closing in on Apple’s heavily anticipated March 21 event, don’t expect the leaks and speculations from the rumour mill to die down anytime soon. Just recently, a new image of the purported 4-inch iPhone 5se has surfaced, and it somewhat confirms a couple of details we have reported thus far.

The latest leak comes from Chinese microblogging site Weibo from user ttsmile_d. The photograph contains a part of the 4-inch iPhone’s specifications sheet which could likely be legitimate considering that Apple’s official announcement is only days away until it takes place. The purported device will be called “iPhone SE,” and not “iPhone 5SE,” which was coined as the device will feature the same 4-inch display, albeit with a different form factor similar to what the iPhone 6s has.

There were fears before that Apple will still retain the 16GB option, which is somewhat paltry by today’s standards with multimedia file sizes getting bigger and bigger. Now, the image has confirmed that the iPhone SE will start at 16GB although you can still opt to go for larger storage options, but for a steeper price. It will also be sold in different colour options: space grey, rose gold, and gold.

The image also confirms that Apple will indeed equip the iPhone SE with NFC for it to support the company’s mobile payment platform, Apple Pay. The move will easily bolster Apple’s position in the mobile payments service competition now that those who prefer 4-inch iPhones can now have the feature.

The iPhone SE isn’t a well-kept secret, and it has been under everyone’s radar ever since it first came to light. Now that Apple is almost ready to showcase its new 4-inch iPhone, those who were reluctant to upgrade can now move up a step higher without the trade-off in size.
