The Alaska Aces and Ginebra Gin Kings will face each other in Dubai on Saturday.

Ginebra has not won a game against the Aces in their last three meetings.  The Kings also lost their opening two matches in the ongoing 2015-16 Smart Bro-PBA Philippine Cup.

So far, Caguioa, Helterbrand as well as LA Tenorio and Sol Mercado have struggled in their games, The National reported.

Inquirer noted that for Ginebra to win this time, Caguioa and Helterbrand may have to step back to let their teammates take charge, while Mercado has to step up for the Kings to pull Saturday’s game against Alaska.

Moreover, Inquirer wrote that the Kings will have to find a way to stop three-time PBA all-star Calvin Abueva, who scored consistently in double.

Many are also expecting coach Tim Cone’s triangle offense to work this time for the Kings.

Meanwhile, before the Alaska-Ginebra matchup, the Aces will play against Mahindra Enforcers at 8 pm today (midnight in Manila) at Dubai’s Al Wasl Sports Club, Business Mirror wrote.

The games in Dubai are the first out-of-the-country games of this season. The last time PBA played in United Arab Emirates was in 2012.

Mahindra is still winless (0-2) in the conference, along with Ginebra and Meralco Bolts. Alaska and NLEX are tied at second place (2-0) behind Rain or Shine, which defeated San Miguel, 99-82, last Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

World boxing champion Manny Pacquiao will be playing for Mahindra tonight and he is expected to bring in thousands of Filipinos living in Dubai in the game.

Pacquiao arrived in Dubai on Monday ahead of the PBA delegation, Philippine Star reported.

The eight-time boxing world champ played in their season debut against Rain or Shine on Oct. 25, which Mahindra lost (108-94). He then missed the team’s next game against Talk n Text.

Business Mirror quoted Alaska Coach Alex Compton as saying: “I think Mahindra plays really hard, and they are currently playing I believe the fastest pace in the league. So we need to be ready to both attack them on offense when they gamble and yet contain them defensively. We can’t give them [Enforcers] easy shots,” Compton added.
