The Academy Awards is all glitz and glam and everybody just looked forward to who are going to be there. Here’s a look at the Oscars 2016 cameos and surprise appearances.
Nice Guy costars and really nice good looking guys Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe took the stage to present the award for best original screenplay. The two had undeniable chemistry and also took turns at poking fun at each other.
At one point, Ryan said, “Look, let’s not fight. I mean, my God, we have two Academy Awards between us, this is beneath us,” to which Russell responded with, “Did you win an Oscar?”
“Star Wars’” R2D2, C-3PO and BB-8 also made a surprise cameo. The trio walked (and rolled) out on the stage as they struggled to find their seats.
“This is not the way to our seats,” C-3PO nagged R2D2, who replied with a few beeps. “I forgot the tickets? How dare you! The tickets were your job nitwit.”
People reports that “Star Wars’” biggest fan Jacob Tremblay immediately shot up in his seat to get a better look at the iconic characters.
While all the other cameos are a surprise, one was not very pleasant. Stacey Dash, the “Clueless” star turned controversial Fox News political pundit made a cameo as The Academy’s Minority Outreach Program director.
The host introduced her as the solution to the Academy’s problem, “the Academy has taken steps to fix this problem, and that is why it is my honor to introduce the new director of our Minority Outreach Program. Please welcome…Miss Stacey Dash!”
“I cannot wait to help my people out. Happy Black History Month!” Stacey Dash giggled.
Oscars 2016 host and comedian Chris Rock touched on the #OscarsSoWhite controversy. Chris made some cringe-worthy jokes about why black people hadn’t boycotted the awards show until now.
He said,“black people did not protest [in the ‘60s] because we had real things to care about… Too busy being raped and lynched to care about who won Best cinematographer. When your grandmother’s swinging from a tree, it’s really hard to care about Best documentary, Foreign short.”
