Disappointment greeted fans waiting for the Oppo R9S after the rumored September 12 release date for the device didn’t materialize. However, a more recent rumor surfaced which provides another Oppo R9S release date. Is this the real deal this time?
GSM Arena relays this latest rumor. According to the website, the rumor out of China says that the release date for the Oppo device falls on October. However, it is important to note that this could still be a repeat of the heavily-teased September 12 release date. Since that didn’t happen, this could be the same story.
Hence, it is best for people to take this information with a grain of salt.
Aside from its potential release date, GSM Arena also details specs of the R9S. The website reports on it as follows:
“The rumor also says that the handset will feature an image stabilization tech powered by a new OPPO SmartSensor, as well as the Super VOOC charging tech that Oppo showcased earlier this year.”
These features are only two of the other specs reported about the R9S. Other things mentioned before include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 chipset, a 5.5-inch full HD display, and 2,850mAh battery. Meanwhile, reports detail that the device’s main camera features a 13MP shooter while the front one is at 16MP.
Oppo R9S release date and other Oppo devices
Aside from the R9S, there are also other Oppo offerings gathering buzz. Among these are the Oppo Find 9 and the company’s UDP-203 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray Player. According to High-Def Digest, this new tech from Oppo retails at USD499. The device launches before 2016 ends.
However, Oppo fans waiting for the Find 9 may have to wait a little longer. As per the report of ChinaTopix last week, the phone could release in 2017.
