With the OnePlus 3 launch inching closer, the anticipation is running high and fans are hoping it would fill the gaps that its predecessors didn’t.

Many had been disappointed when the company dropped the device’s NFC capability. Now, comes in the word that the upcoming flagship device may boast of the feature noted Tech Radar. Reportedly, the OnePlus smartphone may also brag about arriving with 6GB RAM. However, there have been contrary reports suggesting that the OnePlus 3 may land with 4GB RAM. While there is no way to ascertain this detail for now, one thing that is known about the offering is that it will be sporting a refreshed design. Also, based on the benchmark leaks, the device is expected to possess a 5.5-inch 1080p HD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset with 32GB of internal storage.

The question about when exactly when will the OnePlus 3 launch, continues to linger. Loyalists may recollect OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei shared that the offering would be revealed to the world sometime during late Q2. That is when predictions about a June 2016 launch began to spread. However, a recent report on the Chinese website GizmoChina suggests that the launch could happen earlier than June. It was reported that the handset is gearing up to land sometime between May 18 and May 28. Lightly pencil in this date on your calendar as nothing can be confirmed yet and OnePlus has missed the launch date in the past.

It is also not certain how the offering will be rolled-out. There is still a question mark on whether or not the company will adopt the same invite-only strategy as it did with the predecessors. However, more concrete details should surface in the days to come.
