The OnePlus 3 release date is set for June 14, confirmed the company. With the help of its own Loop VR headset, the OnePlus 3 will be unveiled in an immersive virtual world.
After making it invite-free, now the company has announced that there will be “pop-up events” in seven select cities including New York, Paris, London, Berlin, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bangalore on June 15.

This year, the company decided to break the conventional invite system and make OnePlus invite-free. To keep the inventories running, OnePlus has been following the invitation system from the launch of the original OnePlus One handset. However, those who attend the Loop event will get the first opportunity to pre-order OnePlus 3 in the virtual world.
As the OnePlus 3 release date nears, fresh reports surface online confirming key specifications and features of the device. Earlier this week, the OnePlus 3 passed through GFX Bench, confirming key specifications of the “flagship killer.” The smartphone has been listed with Snapdragon 820 SoC, 6GB of RAM, 16-megapixel main camera module and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Previously, the device also received certifications from Chinese regulatory authority TENNA and US Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The much awaited OnePlus 3 is tipped to sport a 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution. The device will be shipped with a fingerprint scanner on board. The smartphone is believed to offer two memory configurations. The 32GB variant will be paired with 4GB of RAM, whereas the 64GB model will feature a whopping 6 GB of RAM, according to unofficial sources. Powered by Snapdragon 820 processor, the OnePlus 3 is said to come packed with a 3,000mAh battery and 16-megapixel rear-facing camera.
