Can One Direction singer Harry Styles move it like Mick Jagger? The 22-year-old charmer reportedly landed his second One Direction movie gig in which he’s billed to play The Rolling Stones’ front-man.
The film is based on the book Exile on Main Street: A Season in Hell with the Rolling Stones, authored by Robert Greenfield. According to Harper’s Bazaar, the story follows The Rolling Stones as they recorded their tenth studio album, Exile on Main Street, in 1972 at a time when the rock icons indulged in drugs and alcohol.
Exile was recorded in France after the band left England due to financial constraints. The Rolling Stones member Keith Richards offered to have the basement of his Southern France home to be converted into a recording studio where Exile was made.
Jagger was 30 years old when the band recorded Exile. And while Harry Styles follows a healthier lifestyle compared to the music legend, the young musician bears a strong physical resemblance with Jagger, especially with his luscious brunette locks and strong features. They also share the same reputation for being a ladies men. Additionally, Styles is a huge fan of Jagger.
“He’s about 10 years too young but make-up and special effects can sort that out,” a source said, as quoted by Mirror.
The adaptation will be directed by Downton Abbey’s Andy Goddard, with the screenplay helmed by Brandon and Philip Murphy. Filming for the One Direction movie is expected to begin in winter.
Reports suggest the One Direction member was picked for the role after he got noticed while filming the Christopher Nolan film Dunkirk, in which he stars alongside Academy Award-nominated actor Tom Hardy.
Reps from Harry Styles and the film have not commented on the One Direction movie.
