Zayn Malik will spill the secrets of One Direction 2016 in a tell-all book.
Malik left the band in March 2015 and signed up for a solo album soon after. At the time Malik left the band, there were rumors that he was unhappy with the songs they were asked to play. In an interview, he said the songs are too generic that even he would not listen to.
Malik’s autobiography is expected to detail his five years with 1D, his four-year relationship with Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, and his ongoing relationship with model Gigi Hadid. Malik and Hadid moved in together last month.
What else could Malik possibly reveal about One Direction 2016?
Apparently, the former 1D member will also talk about the band’s mentor, Simon Cowell. The book will reportedly make Cowell furious. A source told Daily Mail: “This book is going to be explosive and Simon [Cowell] will be furious with Zayn and may even try to stop it coming out. But Zayn is determined to reveal the secrets behind the clean image that was always so fiercely protected by the band’s publicity machine.”
The music mogul mentored 1D after the group joined the X Factor UK in 2012. There has been no bad blood between Cowell and Malik since the latter exited One Direction. In fact, Cowell was all praises for Malik.
The band has been a phenomenal success, but they also grabbed the headlines for the wrong reasons. Malik was previously slammed after being filmed smoking a joint with bandmate Louis Tomlinson.
The band went on an indefinite hiatus after they dropped their fifth album Made in the A.M. in November 2015. However, the four remaining members have been seen in separate gigs since. Cowell admitted to the possibility of their solo projects. Harry Styles is set to launch his own solo album very soon. He will also star in Christopher Nolan’s World War II drama, Dunkirk. Louis Tomlinson, on the other hand, recently appeared in America’s Got Talent, while Niall Horan has been spending his time playing golf. Liam Payne previously signed a recording contract with Capitol Records UK.
