Last fall, news of a remake of an all-female Ocean’s Eleven movie emerged, and since then, there have been rumors floating on the Internet.
Previously, rumors indicated that the Gravity actors would be working together again for Ocean’s Eleven. George Clooney and Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock will be cast in Ocean’s Eleven. The film is said to be all-female and is the 2001 remake of the original 1960 heist film.
Back in October, there was no concrete proof stating whether it would be a remake or a sequel, or if Danny Ocean would give his voice of advice on grand larceny. However, The Hunger Games’ Gary Ross name is attached to the film, and the script would be from Queen & Country scribe Olivia Milch.
According to The Playlist, rumors are pointing out that Cate Blanchett would be roped in for the film. Although talks are still on, she will be working with Bullock. The publication also said that the “Carol” actress would be playing the role of Brad Pitt. Hence, there would be plenty of snappy dialogue between the two Oscar winners.
The women-led film is dubbed Ocean’s Ocho, and that means there will be three fewer thieves this time. There is also a possibility that there could be some kind of Dodgeball tie-in.
Last month, speculation suggested that Jennifer Lawrence was going to sign on to the film. However, she later cleared the air by giving a statement, notes A.V. Club.
Lawrence and Ross are also old friends, as they have worked earlier in The Hunger Games. Thus, she may have to find someone to play Casey Affleck to her Scott Caan (or vice versa), which would facilitate adding to the cast a pair of Mormon sisters.
