An all-female “Ocean’s Eleven” remake might just be in the works. In addition to Sandra Bullock, it might also star Cate Blanchett and Jennifer Lawrence.

“Ocean’s Eleven” is set to be remade with an all-women cast. While Sandra Bullock was tipped to star in the main role a lot earlier, word on the street is that Cate Blanchett and Jennifer Lawrence too might make the cut.

Cate Blanchett, who is playing a villain in “Thor 3,” is all set to be a good girl in an “Ocean’s Eleven” reboot. Tipped to portray the role played by Brad Pitt, Blanchett is being considered as the perfect person to play the right hand to Bullock’s Ocean.

Slash Film reveals that the movie will not just swap all male leads with women characters, but will also try and replicate their chemistry. For instance, the interactions between Blanchett and Bullock have been inspired by the friendship between Clooney and Pitt in the original film.

Another actress rumored to join the cast is none other than “X-Men” star Jennifer Lawrence. Even though earlier rumblings of her joining the cast was just noise, Lawrence in “Ocean’s Eleven” might just happen. The actress shares a great equation with director Gary Ross, who is the brainchild behind the reboot. She has experience working with him for the “Hunger Games” movies.

According to The Playlist, the whole “Ocean’s” reboot was Ross’ idea. He shared it with the original director of the trilogy, Steven Soderbergh. Soderbergh, in turn, communicated it to the late producer Jerry Weintraub. However, here is a twist. Chances are “Ocean’s Eleven” might not stay eleven at all. This is because those in the know are aware that everyone has been calling the project as “Ocean’s Ocho” which means eight.

So, there is a possibility that the number of thieves could come down. Despite this, the studio and those associated with the project hope for the movie and its sequel to happen. Maybe one of the sequels could even have Clooney making an appearance.
