Your months of craving for Nutella-filled treats come to an end as the Tella Balls Dessert Bar in Dulwich Hill in Sydney, Australia finally opens Monday (Feb 29).

The dessert bar is created by two innovators – Aki Daikos and Simon Kappatos – who were also responsible for the worldwide “Tella Ball” craze.

Last year, the Foodcraft Espresso and Bakery creation’s Tella Ball shake had generated waves when it was launched via social media. People traveled from everywhere to get a taste of Tella Ball doughnut atop a Nutella milkshake, reported.

Tella Ball shake is a sugar-dusted Nutella injected doughnut sphere atop a creamy milkshake, Mail Online noted.

Daikos and Kappatoss said their new sweet treat was born after they have found a gap in the dessert bar market and have spent months creating a new menu for their flagship Tella Ball Cafe.

Kappatos also believed that this latest food craze will set the tone for sweets this year. Among the delectable treats being offered at the new Tella Balls Dessert Bar are following:


The gelat-dough is handcrafted by the dessert bar’s best team from Italy. It is a doughnut flavoured, doughnut-shaped doughnut gelato. It is priced at $7 a piece. “We’re the first to do it in Australia,” Kappatos said.

Tella Ball Shakes

Daikos believed that treats like Tella Balls, waffles, crepes, gelato and milkshakes are all set to be their menu’s favourites. Grab each for only $10.

Gelato Bar

Daikos said their gelato is made from the freshest ingredients with the chocolatey goodness of Nutella, Kit Kat, Snickers, Oreo, Reese, Cadbury Flake, Maltesers and Kinder Bueno. A scoop at the gelato bar starts at $4.50, and three scoops are $7.50. Take home packs are 500mL for $12.50 and 1L for $22.50.

House made Waffles

The shop offers several choices of waffles such as Tella Bella ($16), Belgian Chocolat ($16), Ricotta and Blueberry ($16), Waffle Burger $20 and Choc Art ($16).
