The San Antonio Spurs will play the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, Feb. 18, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.
The Spurs will look to win their first match after the NBA All-Star break. The All-Star game show the West beat the East 196-173 at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, North Canada.
According to the NBA reports, the Spurs have taken their record to 45-8, but aren’t considered to be the best as compared to the Golden State Warriors. The Spurs have successfully managed to make a third-best record in the NBA history but critics believe that they lack the lethal weapon which the Warriors possess.
The only concern for Spurs rightnow are anu Ginobili and Tim Duncan. Ginobili is set to miss nearly two weeks of active NBA action after undergoing testicular surgery earlier this month. Duncan has no time table for his comeback. He did comeback before the All-Star break but will miss action again because of a sore right knee.
NBA sources quote, “Duncan, 39, and Ginobili, 38, are only averaging a combined 18.8 points – well below their combined career average of 33.3 – but their post-season experience is key to the well-oiled San Antonio machine.”
“We’ve just got to get together as a team and build our chemistry,” said forward Kawhi Leonard, who made his first All-Star appearance Sunday. “Good teams win on the road. That’s how you win championships.”
According to Winners and Whiners, the Clippers’ side will have to rally their troops as they meet two top team, the Spurs and Warriors, at home. Their home record now stands at 17-8.
