Just a day after “Nashville” season 5 cancelled news surfaced online, new reports are now claiming that the well-loved Lionsgate TV show could get another shot.  According to sources, producers of the recently axed series is now looking for a new home for the show.

As Celeb Dirty Laundry reported, Lionsgate TV took the hopeful news to Twitter by posting, “#Nashies we are working hard to find a new home for your favourite show! Thank you for your support & keep tweeting #BringBackNashville.”

Fans have also expressed their support for the recently cancelled “Nashville” season 5 by suggesting a Change.org petition.  Some of their ideas included the pitching the show to streaming services like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu or Vimeo.  Avid viewers took notice that another Lionsgate TV project, “Orange is the New Black” is already on Netflix, and having “Nashville” on the popular streaming service could be the best and most feasible idea.

ABC’s decision to cut the show angered viewers who were very much attached to the country music drama headlined by Connie Britton, who plays Rayna James.  The actress, despite the unfortunate news, wholeheartedly thanked fans of the show by posting a message on her Instagram account.

“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honour to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it,” she said as reported by TV Line.

“Sometimes we were more successful than others,” she continued. “But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
