Actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has unveiled the first official photo of Disney’s animated movie “Moana” and he also shared some exciting news about it.

Johnson has posted the first official photo of the film on his social media accounts which showed the two protagonists of the movie, Moana and Maui, sailing on a small raft towards an island. He also teased that the first trailer of the movie will be released on Sunday, June 12.

“#MOANA EXCLUSIVE: Here’s the first look at the [email protected] movie we’ve been working very hard to bring to life for the world to enjoy. It’s a visual and singing journey unlike anything you have ever seen before. And get ready … THIS SUNDAY I’ll bring you the EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK teaser trailer for #MOANA. Our journey has only just begun … ” the actor wrote.

The wrestler/actor will voice the demigod character Maui in the movie, while newcomer and native Hawaiian Auli’i Cravalho will be the voice behind Moana.

Johnson has been very active in documenting the film production of “Moana” on social media. He recently shared a clip of himself doing a recording session for the movie.

The movie is about the journey of a young girl who uses her navigational skills to set sail for a fabled island. Moana is the daughter of a Polynesian chief and the descendant of a long line of sea navigators. She will be joined by her hero, Maui, in her journey to find the island, Screen Rant wrote.

The film will be directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the duo behind Disney’s other iconic animated films such as “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” and “Hercules.” The script was written by Taika Waititi.

“Hamilton” creator and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda has penned the music for “Moana” alongside New Zealand guitarist Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina (“Tarzan”). In January, Miranda had teased the first footage of the film. He tweeted, “I can’t wait for you to meet Moana,” along with a brief clip from the movie.

According to Entertainment Weekly, actor Alan Tudyk (“Frozen” and “Big Hero 6”) also teased that he will appear in the film. No official word as of yet on what character he will be playing.

“Moana” is due to roll in theaters in November 2016.
